Arizona

Yesterday, we woke up in Silver City and drove off to where my favorite family in Arizona lives. As always, beautiful scenery, but as we got a little bit further into AZ the mountains turned into huge piles of rocks. Very cool.

Sam greeted us and slowly but surely, people arrived at the house throughout the day. Oh my... I haven't been here in 2 years, and since then the younger boys grew and got deep voices (AAH!) and then there were two new additions to Phil's family (all three are adorable and kept us girls busy for a while). The only ones I didn't see were the twins, Laura's new husband, and Sam's boyfriend, Jordan, but I did get to meet Jim's girlfriend, Stephanie. A couple friends that I knew showed up too so it was just like the old days. One big party.
(The picture is Pook and Phil's oldest, Delaney)It's monsoon season here as some of you may have seen on the news. There was no storm last night though. A little disappointing because that'd be pretty cool to see. So anyway, after mostly everyone was gone Pook, Fonz, and Anthony decided to go to In-n-Out, a great burger place, for a midnight snack, so Sam and I tagged along. Holly and Monica were pretty exhausted so they went to bed before that. Sam is just too awesome and wanted to pull an all nighter as it is a tradition when I come out to stay up until the paperboy comes, but by 3 we decided to call it a night.
Right now, it's 8:00am and everyone's still asleep but I woke up hearing Jim and his dad talking and so I had a quick breakfast with Jim before he went to work late. We need our oil changed this morning and plan on leaving around noon. Then we're driving off to see Jessica who is the whole reason Monica came up with the idea of this roadtrip! Can't wait to see her.

As a side note, getting a little sick of the car and trying to find good songs on the ipods all the time. It's not that bad, but the effects of driving cross country have hit me a little. It's good timing to spend a few days at Jessica's. Yesterday we drove 3,000 miles which marks the third time of singing Life is a Highway while video taping. We decided 25 miles before the mile marker to actually learn all the words of the song by typing them up cause that's the only way I can learn a song. It was quite enjoyable and by the end of the trip, we hope to have sung this song at a kareoke place... or maybe just the kareoke on Monica and Steve's TV.

Ladies: I'm going through withdrawal. You must be in California now. Where are Uncle Wendell, Aunt Crit and the Hollywood Walk of Fame?
